With phrases like yo-yo dieting, everybody knows that losing the weight is only half the battle. Once they succeed, most people see keeping the weight off as a life-long punishment for succeeding—but it doesn’t have to be that way!

Improve Your Outlook

Before losing weight, most of our clients explained they had an easy time maintaining their weight; that’s because the human body and mind work together in a comfortable set of eating habits, behaviors and activities that make it easy to stabilize body weight. With an improved outlook and little more appreciation for your improved body, you can teach your mind to hold that needle on your scale.

Treat Yourself Well

The first step is to treat your body and mind well. You asked a lot from both, and while they struggled in the beginning, they finally made it happen. It’s okay to give them a lighter workload for a little while; let them heal and adapt to the better nutrition and exercises you now do.

While taking care of your new body, don’t forget yourself too! Say goodbye to old clothes that no longer fit, and enjoy buying a new wardrobe that fits the new you. You have every excuse to get that massage, or enjoy a day at the beach.

Change Your Habits

These rewards tie into what makes the new weight stick—changing your habits. When you treat yourself well after making that change, you make the new habits comfortable. Eventually the light exercises you do won’t feel right, and you’ll naturally push to the intensity that got you here.

You may push a little harder and a little lower every week, but eventually this balances out to something your body can comfortably deliver. Once you reach this point, you will find it effortless to maintain your weight.
